His nose twitched, as he slipped out of the shadows. After all, the little monkey boy was just a trifling interested. He'd desperately considered bounding in the room like a cheerful little idiot, especially after he saw August go in, but for now, he was more interested in understanding what was going on. He'd heard the echos of the tape player, he'd heard the sound of a gun. That was when he reached for one of his own. But he was curious not stupid. ( Though, often times that's one in the same )
He slipped in behind Wolfe, as the tape player stopped, entering the quiet room, where there was the assortment of individuals he'd seen enter - and a few others. Kane was holding a pistol that he didn't recognize in his coat-holster. This could be one of many things, all of which did not have an air of positivity around it. However, noting finally that there seemed to be tension, but not aggression in the air, he slipped his weapons away, to make certain that he didn't tip anything to the breaking point. Just his luck.
There were some minor recognitions around the room - Wolfe, obviously, August, definitely, and people he'd seen fight the Giant Monster of Doom. Was that their connection? No... then he would recognize everyone not just certain people. Then again, the fight had been kind of massive and crazy - there was definitely the possibility that he'd missed some of them.
"That's what I get for bein' late, huh?" He asked, taking up a spot next to August, who was the person he felt most comfortable being near, a smile riding along his face as it almost always did. He was semi-excited, of course, as he should be, considering the way things were rolling about - mysterious note, a large gathering of strangers, friends, and acquaintances...
all of the makings of a really neat adventure!
"Who's gun?" He asked, gesturing to Kane, with a half lidded smirk. Of course, there wasn't many options to choose from, the gunners in this arrangement were pretty scarce. All in all, he was wondering just how mysterious this note was, and why it seemed to be so far-reaching. Spirans, Cetrans, and a whole world of people in between. His prehensile tail simply swayed side to side as he considered the possibilities.

Jay looked at the arrivals, he had been following breadcrumbs to this place, that was attacked apparently. "Fine... and I want that gun back, it's more than a toy, it's the key to my past," he scorned, he walked upto a wall and leant on it, "I got clients on hold and so let's get this done and dusted." He pulled out his prized possession, a stone with the letter 'J' carved into it, this was his only proof of identity, Jay stone. He scowled at the disarmers, he didn't like the whole 'my company is best so I choose what happens' scheme, but he wanted to know what was going on. He looked at the mage who seemed strange, 'do I know him..... no...' he pondered, his were scanning his surroundings, the group of people, the high area's, he had no gun so he decided to save himself if there were to be an attack, he didn't care for these people, they weren't an asset to his own needs. He decided to investigate the place by himself, as that seemed most probable. He took a deep breath and cleared his mind, pure sight activated and stuff. His vision became acute and took in every detail, he thought it might be a note or something so he looked for that.

Buddy watched as the crowd grew by the minute. Buddy loosened his tie a little bit as it was starting to get very hot with all the bodies. There ended being a lot of clamor going about with people confiscating weapons, scolding others and the general introductions some felt that they had to do. Buddy just stood and stared. It would be difficult for him to introduce himself if no one was looking at him. He supposed most of them were strangers…until he showed up.
It was a sharp surprise to see his fellow traveler and guardian here, Zero Lorgana. It raised an interesting question of “where was Adiona?”. As far as Buddy could tell, they both had heard of this place, but neither had brought their charge. Was this perhaps too dangerous of a situation to bring the hope of Spira along? Buddy didn’t have an answer, so he could only scratch his head in thought.
Hey you. Yeah, I see you.
Buddy gave a nod and a grin towards his Spiran colleague in arms and then took back to people watching. Men and Women, Clowns, Burmecians, Monkeys, Angels and Demons. It was the most eclectic assortment of people and creatures that Buddy had ever witnessed and in honesty, he was loving it. This place was full of people from different walks of life with different stories to tell, though he could do without meeting a few of them…
It was strange. While he was looking around, something seemed to be off in the atmosphere. Looking around with a scrutinizing eye he kept his sights open for anything “unusual”. More unusual than the gathering before him anyway. Nothing really grabbed his attention, but…there was something…off. The ambiance didn’t feel right. Then it hit him! The same voice, that old dilapidated recording, had stopped! He began moving towards one of the desks that help what looked like it could be playing it. Making his way over there after squeezing through the bodies, Buddy picked up the only device that appeared to be plugged in. Not knowing really what to do to it he gave it a good shake and put his ear up to it to see if he could hear any machine work turning on the inside. Even if most of it was digital, there would still need to be some sort of cooling system on it.

August seemed to brighten up for a moment upon seeing the Asher has too followed clues to this most peculiar place, like a new fire has stirred inside him. His most precious possession was here now, his ace, his coup de grace for all things troubling, nothing could perturb him now. Not man or beast, for he had the most important thing one could possess. "Asher, my boy!" He exclaimed happily. "Would appear fate has brought us together again." He patted the Genome on the back, grinning. "Excellent, with you by my side, no monstrosity could stand against us."
Jay's inquiry about his gun, and Asher's curious question are answered simultaneous with Kane grunting like a gorilla at Jay's request - he wasn't going to get his gun back this soon. "Oh that," August says offhandedly, "Just had a little problem earlier, don't worry. Really just a trinket I'm holding onto for a bit." His eyes shoot to Jay like a bullet, filled with scorn.
When the voice in the ghastly recording ceases, August could only breath a sigh of relief. "Well, say what you will about the omen that may bear, least the voice has ceased. Asher, shall we see what we can find? Best go together encase we run across something most foul, don't you agree? Come, think some of the others have the right idea, deeper inside. We won't find the truth dilly dallying around outside, what's adventure without risk? Youth first, let's see what's down the hallway." He motions for a protruding hallway, leading down a dark corridor lined with decaying and rusted doors.

::He was late, but that was beyond his control for he found a bloody piece of otherwise insignificant paper in the hand of a dying patient. Beyond help, he let the man go peacefully, and in his search for a name found only this single sheet with odd directions and an ominous message. Strange, Louis thought, that a man should go to his grave with this as his only known possession. It struck him as something mystical and unique, so profound he found himself now before a strange military installation left to crumble into dust. Seems he was already late for the show, but perhaps he was already late to the show to begin with. He heard of the Solomon creature, but only in the stories of travelers. It was a creature far away, like Sin, and it only struck him as another outlet to detach people form this world - as so many have come before it. He made his way inside, finding a group of the most mismatched and odd assortment of people he's seen since the proxy wars. Good or bad, these people where here together now, and he just wanted answers.::
"Hello?"
::He cautiously asked, waiting to judge the reactions of those inside the decapitated building. The recording playing struck him as odd, but confirmed that this must indeed be the place the page described, but what a peculiar place to lead him to. When it ended abruptly, he noted it as odd - for who knows how long such a recording had played before their arrival. Was there another here that stopped it? Or had the cellulose acetate finally wore thin and snapped. It was ominous, but he had no bearing to judge its unusualness by.::
"I found this paper, I assume we are here all the same? Forgive my ignorance... I found this on the body of a patient and only know the little that has been spoken, but this has to do with the 'Solomon Creature' I assume? Any one know why we were brought here?"
::He really didn't expect an answer, but the white-mage asked anyway for perhaps someone could enlighten him, even just a little. This wasn't his usual endeavors, he rarely would seek out a seemingly 'wild goose chase' but something about this was different, perhaps it would bring about some good. The page, and what he caught on the recording, lead him to believe this must be greater than himself or those involved - but what, that was the question yet answered.::

To say that Vale was dealt a blow to his self-confidence was a bit of an understatement as everyone continued on with their conversation, ignoring the demon and his attempted speech entirely.
That's okay... Really, it's fine. I mean, why pay attention to the only person who is worried that the monster could show up at any moment? Because, apparently it was such a pushover last time they shouldn't have to worry about it's gigantic laser beam or anything like that.
Patience, little one. Perhaps you simply weren't loud enough to hear over the din of the speakers and the chattering that is usually accompanied by growing crowds.
Vale nodded, stepping back inside the compound as several other people walked right past him, apparently in too much of a hurry to pay attention to the likes of a mere demon. As he re-entered, Vale noted that the recording that had been playing over the intercoms of the place (he had been there so long that it simply became background noise for him) had suddenly stopped. In congruency, everyone stopped speaking for a split second as well, until the man who had shot at him started complaining about something or another. The demon casually walked up to him and said, "I don't think you realize just how little use your gun is going to be against this thing, considering it destroyed more than half of the Galbadian and Midgar armies last time we fought it. Two of the most powerful military factions in this world, in case you didn't know, my friend." Before he could reply, Vale began walking away simply wandering the crowds for a time until he noticed a white-haired individual enter the base. He quickly approached the man as he called out to the various people there.
"They won't listen to you. Everyone seems a bit too absorbed in everyone else to pay attention to the likes of you or me..." Vale replied to Louis (as he was talking to no one in particular). "Not that I should have expected otherwise... half of these people are meeting up with old friends, and those who aren't are simply too pissy to pay attention to the likes of me or you." He smirked at the man as he finished this last sentence. "If you want to get anywhere here, you'd be better off wandering randomly deeper into the building so that people will break off into smaller groups that you can actually talk to."
At that, Vale stretched his wings and began to walk away from the man, down the first hallway he saw, randomly peeking into rooms along it as he went.
Maybe I'll get lucky and step on a trip mine or something... he thought as he wandered through the hallways of the place, searching for nothing in particular (though he supposed he was inadvertantly looking for the source of the recording and why it stopped.)
Needless to say, Vale was being careful as he walked through the abandoned military base, not wanting to get blown to smithereens by an old mine that someone had left lying around.

She had paused when the sound of the voice did, her eyes scanning the ground behind them before she smiled once more, already she had enough bits of water spread through out the entire complex to know if anything was coming, as well that if the place became far more unstable she would know. Hearing the others behind her going on, arguing a bit she would catch scent of a few familiars. Noting one to be Zero, someone she’d met in her Journey and training, turning she would reach the end of the main hall, Looking at the door before pushing it, feeling it stick hard. She’d look around before giving it a swift hit, sending it flying open with a loud crash, quickly though she ducked into the stairwell, looking down it before calling out into it.
Hello! Anyone down here!!
She was far to happy for such a place it may be said, though she carried a calmness about her still, she’d moved, taking her steps as she would climb the stairs down, Darkness engulfing her more fully. Her eyes adjusting more to such deep black that filled the area, wondering a bit how far down the stairs would really go. Hearing the sounds of dripping water below, Her long ears twitching as she simply listened. Taking in all the sounds she could.
Mmm.. I wonder, if that recording came from down here… after all, wouldn’t it be wise to put the main Radio and control center underground where it should be safest?
Talking lightly to herself stepped onwards down into the darkness, Letting her tails reform, swaying behind herself as her runeic lines would glow softly, lighting the area about herself as she would climb downwards, If anyone else were to look down she would simply look like a dull light in the darkness by this point.

Jay brushed his finger against some rubble and looked around, there was no mud like this here. "Hmmm, maybe someone has been here," he whispered to himself, he look around and saw the warrior he shot at, he watched him for a moment then decided to walk up to him. "Hey you, I'm... sorry I shot at you, but you can understand, with this places history," he called as he strolled up to him. He kept his focus on the weapon as he came up close to Vale, he didn't trust anyone, this congrigation was unsettling. "And I didn't try and shoot you..... " he said justifying his actions, he looked around for a moment, what was here? he didn't know and that was keeping him here.

Well, well, it was probably a good idea that Kefka took to the air in the first few moments he arrived, since suddenly the place was close to overflowing with lowly rabble and a mish-mash of different adventurers. He certainly felt claustrophobic from the mediocrity already.
Alright, lesse here... that bulky man's eyeing me like he's trying to compare his own wussy powers with my own, he thought as he looked to Draco, so I'll just take care of him later down the line. I'll make him fear my powers soon enough, and then he'll have plent sense to cower in the face of his betters!
He then looked at the dressed-up four-eyes with the katana and guitar, who suddenly summoned a blue copy of hismelf that started running pell-mell around the whole facility. Alright, no threat there. Then, a new person arrived, along with a servant of his own. The fact that he seemed to be nobility didn't deter the fact to Kefka that he was looking upon a gigantic anthropomorphic rat. Even with the impressive firearm strapped to his back, or the well-groomed manners he used to rightfully address the Court Mage, he was still a giant rat. Meh, at least he knew his betters, unlike certain imbecilic mercenaries, he thought ruefully as he gave another half glance in Draco's direction.
The rat, introduced as August Krasnow, then made the delightful remark about how it was strange that Kefka didn't destroy the little pipsqueak with the itchy trigger finger when he started shooting in the air. Kefka merely giggled insanely and stated, still floating in the air, "Oh, that's simple, Mr. Krasnow. I've been very bored with running hither and thither across the country, and this tyke entertained me by... firing off prematurely at the assembled guests. Was hoping for a bit of sport before I destroy that creature, the Solomon's Key.
"Also, didn't really seem so keen about blowing him to tender little crispy vittles with a gun still in his hand, even if he is a neophyte using it. Nothing can ruin your day more than a bullet to the face, even if it comes from a pea-shooter like that. But, now that you've so graciously relieved him of it, I'll be happy to indulge you in a bit of fun...
"Tell me, everyone," he shouted out to all assembled, "have you ever seen a nimrod dance?"
At the blank stares, he quickly replied, "We-he-hell, today's your lucky day! Check this out!"
He suddenly flew over to Jay, who had meandered away from the rest of the group after whining for his pistol back and speaking to the hunchback demon boy, and fired a small Thunder spell right at his feet.
"DANCE!!!" He bellowed loudly at the nimrod, shooting a Fire spell at his feet this time, "DANCE FOR ME!!! UWEHEHEHE!!"
A Thunder and Fire were shot in quick succession as he zoomed around the hapless merc, wailing mercilessly on him with his impressive repertoir of spells aimed directly at his feet. "COME ON, YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT! I WANNA SEE YOU DANCE!"
Now, it was entirely concievable that Kefka was being just as much a danger to everyone else in the building as he was to just the lone merc, as they were all in such close proximity with one another, but for the life of him, he never thought to, well, think that far ahead. He rarely did when there was so much bloody good work to be done.
After giving the merc the old hotfoot enough to satisfy his considerable bloodlust, Kefka flew back over to August, huffing slightly, but still having a wide grin on his harlequin face. "Okie doke... I've had my fun with him." He gave another short giggle, and watched as even more people filed in.
One was familiar to him: during that detestable trip to the Spiran Continent, he had met the Dark Guardian Zero at the Blitzball game. Even if the two only exchanged the barest of greetings, there was still mutual respect between the two, something that Kefka never ever showed to another being. This was more begrudging respect, as even he could feel the repression of Mana and strength that flowed from him like a fountain. It would not do well to anger this one, and so when Zero exchanged his greeting, Kefka merely nodded and floated along over the heads of the others.
It was then that Kefka noticed something strange. The audio recording that had been as annoying as a mosquito buzzing near his ear had suddenly been switched off inexplicably. While this did elicit a great sigh of relief from the Mad Mage, he did find it strange that it would simply cease suddenly.
But then, he saw that some others ere well on top of finding out the source of the disturbance, and so decided to let them have their go at it. Meanwhile, he zoomed upward to a noticeable hole through the roof and stood upon the topmost parapet of the instillation, for any signs of the Solomon's Key. That was why he was here, anyway, not to socialize with such degrading and degenerate filth such as these...
But if they did find something, he would be quick to find out exactly what.

Jay stepped away from spell orbs that strafed the ground using his fleet ability, dancing? the maturity of picking sides was coming out. "Now if you're pretty much done, I rather the whole mystery was solved and we all can get home," Jay said calmly, after his quick meditation before, he had centred his 'chi' that killed off his nerves, except for this clown. He looked at Kefka's rat friend and raised his eyebrow, 'does this guy even know this 'jester' despises him, talk about lack of self-respect,' he thought, a smirk painted on his face as he turnt around to inspect the decrepid building, 'looking for breadcrumbs in a rock shack, well I can see this is perfect use of my time," he looked at the walls and noticed a hand print on the wall.

There was some recognition for himm. From Buddy and the court mage. He crossed his arms, allowing this little situation to play out. And the centre piece of it seemed tobe the boy who had ran in and started shooting the place up. He knew about paranoia. But jeez. He had to admit however. Vale as he introduced himself as was correct. The building was dangerous. But there was no answers to be gotten by simply standing around outside. The only way they were going to get anywhere in this investigation was by venturing into the military complex and finding the source of this strange recording.
The situation with the gun man only turned more colourful as the Mad Mage started doing an entertaining formula on the cowboy gun dance. This time with magic. Creative. If nothing else.
He would have put a stop to it. If doing that had any personal gain for him. Which of course. It didn't. With that he walked past everyone and moved into the building. Like its outside appearance the place was crumbling on the inside too. A cockroach scuttled by his feet. Vines and other plant life had overgrown the base. Rust and dripping water, the building did indeed look as if it could come down at any time. However, it seemed for this time, as long as nothing strenious put any pressure on the building. That the architechture would hold.
He didn't plan to catch up with those that had already entered the building, rather he'd go at his own pace. Usually in buildings like these tannoy systems tended to be on the first floor. However then again, that was assuming a lot. So the best thing to do rather than wandering around aimlessly was to find a blue print or map of the building. Entering one of the first rooms to the right he took a look around the room to see if he could find anything of the sort.

Asher, like the adorable little monkey that he was, would follow August deeper, since that was apparently where they went. He was glad to be paired with August and his Manservant, both of whom he considered friends ( even if Kane still had a tendency to try and freak him out for whatever reason ). He was right, of course - together, Asher and August could take on a bunch of old timey creatures and blighted... things.
He glanced back in time to see Kefka start attacking the boy who seemed more or less defenseless. Well, not exactly attacking so much as attempting to humiliate. Noting that the boy seemed to be capable of avoiding the magical missiles, Asher quirked a brow at that, but ultimately shrugged. If the boy could take care of himself ( which Asher was starting to doubt, based on the amount of animosity people were having towards him ), he didn't need any assistance. But still...
"Can we bring him along so he doesn't get burned up?" He asked, pointing at Jay, even though it seemed that Jay was not necessarily the most advantageous of comrades. Asher could afford enough protection for the two!
