Solomon's Blight The blight is generally accepted to the scientific world as a virus. However. Despite this there are some specific elements to it that make it different to other viral entities. For example the blight has no real structure that even our top scientists have been able to discern. However. It shares enough similarities with other viral plagues for it to labled in such a way.
The origins of the blight according to Subject M. Are centred around Gateway XXVI. A sample of the blight came through the gateway and was immediatly moved to the nearest facility for further study. Unfortunatly the blights nature proved too much for containment, and it got out. M-Labs location L was abandoned. Judging by its move through the Gateway it is likely the Blight originated in another one of the theoretical worlds. Something that is still under study to this day.
Effects of the Blight tend of vary from person to person. However common symptoms include the following.
: Degredation of physical state : Degredation of mental state. : Thickening of the blood : Increased physical and magical strength : Death
Due to the highly unstable nature of the blight. It seems to be prone to mutation. M-Labs has issued a " watch and see" policy on infection. Currently investigating common effects and life spans of infected individuals based on race or ethnic heritige.

Blight Monsters
Blight monsters refer to creatures. Be they animals, people, or actual monsters. Who came to be infected by the solomons blight in some form or another. Blight monsters are due to the blight stronger than regular monsters. However their life spans are extremely short. Rarely surviving more than 3 weeks since their base mutation.
Blight Monsters however seem to be unable to infect others through the Blight. The most commonly agreed theory of this is that the blight runs its own process of selection. That is, depending on how powerful an infected individual is upon infection. The blight may or may not allow them to pass it on, there was large scale confusion in the labs concerning this matter. And it is still hot for debate.
Current Data on encountered Blight Monsters:
Description: The abandoned are named so for their activity during their base mutation and subsiquent phases. They wander aimlessly. Arms out stretched as if to grab and hold anyone who comes close. The abandoned have bodies made out of a thick black substance, and when presented with a target. Grab and hug them. This black substance seems to act as a form of molecular acid. Burning away skin flesh and bone easily. Powers: Molecular acid. Activity: Seems to seek out otherlife forms. Location First Spotted: Pages, the ruined facility. Blight GhoulDescription: A show of the blights superiority over other viral entities. Not even the dead are safe from its clutches.When a person dies by the hand of a Manifest, or is killed in some way involving the blight. Their body is changed and mutated upon death. Turning them into a blight ghoul. An undead monster with an insaitable appitite for flesh. Unlike most other Blight Monsters. Blight Ghouls CAN spread the infection through their bites. Making them the most dangerous of all Blight monsters. Blight Ghouls are known for both their fragility. And near invulnerability. They can easily be broken and sliced apart. However. The Ghoul will not die. And will not stop. Until its brain has been destroyed. Powers: Cannot be killed except by destroying the brain. Can infect others via a bite. Activity: Tends to go for the largest power source in the area that isn't infected. Location first spotted: The Dollet Event, Galbadia.[/ul][/blockquote]

Manifests
Manifests are different from Blight monsters in many ways. For one, their is the sheer difference in power. The Manifests also have a longer life span. In fact it is theorised that, should a Manifest not be destroyed by other means. Its life span could well be limitless.
The process for the creation of a manifest involves the injection of the blight into a strong host. The Host will undergo various changes. And when the blight eventually wins over in their systems, they will undergo one final change. And offically become a Manifest.
Unlike the blight monsters. Maniests seem to have a basic intellegence all their own. On one particular occasion. An actual discussion was made with a Manifest. Who believed itself to be a denizen of gaia, although. Not this one. A subject of much study and debate. It should be noted that whilst a Manifests intellect may seem similar to a human. It cannot be forgotten that this is merely an imitation. The Manifests true nature is feral and animalistic.
::Update::
Since the defeat of Solomons Key. Manifests seem to be developing a more complex and sentient intellect. Acting on their own and within their own interests rather than driven by the will of the Key and blight as a whole. More information will be availible upon access.
Known Manifests: Manifests that have been encountered are listed here.
Name: Manifest: Subject 0 Description: The original Manifest, Manifest 0 is the only Manifest who rejects living bodies. Only capable of possessing dead hosts. Unlike other Manifests who are limited to a single host. Manifest 0 can split among many, but requires a main host seat. It was the first to gain sentience. And is currently acting as the defacto leader of the Manifests. Information: Manifests are beings created using the Solomon's Blight. Unlike the early experiments seen at M-Labs, Manifests seem to be creatures totally consumed by their portion of Solomon's Blight. In order to create Manifests, a powerful host body is required. Otherwise they will simply mutate into monsters. E-Humans, or Lucavi are a must. For whatever reason, this Manifest rejected all living subjects, including E-Humans and Lucavi. However, when it was introduced to the lifeless corpse of Zack fair, it accepted this body as its host. The regenerative capabilities of this monster were enough to regenerate Zack's lost head. Solomon's blight corrupted pyreflies float around this body, these pyreflies are able to interact with the bodies of the recently dead and transform them into monsters. Since the destruction of its original host body at the hands of the Remnants. Subject 0 is currently inhabiting the corpse of President Shinra. Whilst attempts have been made to remove the Manifest from this position of power. Its evolution into sentient intellect seems to have allowed it to carry on an effective act. Manipulating the Midgar Continent at will. == Current Status:Unknown== ==Warning: Infection ability of Manifest Subject 0 is too great. Contact Quarantine team upon discovery== Dremora Manifest: Barthandelus " Behold, the might of the fal- error....system corrupt" Information: This creature, despite its mechanical appearance, is a creation of the Solomons Blight known as the Dremora Manifest. It was created when the security head of the building entered the restricted areas of the building and became infected with the Solomons Blight. For whatever reason, this Manifest seems to have the power to get glimpses of the future. And literally change its form to give these glimpses a physical state. The current form of the Dremora Manifest is a glimpse into the future of Gaia. And whatever it is...seems to involve these machines. == Current Status:Deseased?== ==Warning: Future encounters if any may involve different forms== [/ul] [/blockquote]
