Espers
Espers are among the most powerful of summoned creatures. Unlike Guardian Forces or Eidolons, Espers stay on the battlefield and fight along side the summoner, effectively serving as an additional party member. Unlike other summons, each Esper can only ever belong to one person. If you want an Esper that someone else controls you will have to first defeat that person in battle, and then defeat the Esper itself, to claim it as your own. Which, needless to say, is no easy feat. But, because they serve as additional party members, even the weakest of the Espers can potentially double the summoner's fighting ability.
Belias, The Gigas
Description: This Esper takes the form of a large man with four arms, and a huge axe-like weapon. A giant that breathes fire, this creature lives up to its name of Gigas. Its curved horns, and the shape of its axe cause many to associate Belias with the zodiac sign Aries.
Location: Raithwall’s Tomb, Ivalice Continent
Mateus, The Corrupt
Description: A flying spirit in a large suit of armor, carrying a large spear. Shaded in colors of blue and grey. Strapped to his chest is the form of an unconscious woman, an ice goddess. Several fish-like elements can be seen in the armor. And Mateus is often associated with the zodiac sign of Pisces.
Location: Stilshrine of Mirium, Ivalice Continent
Adrammelech, The Wroth
Description: Adrammelech is a dragon-like creature, with a long slender body and wings. It has a lightning like-pattern etched into its body, with a goat-like head, and cloven hooves at its feet. Because of this, it is often associated with the zodiac sign of Capricorn.
Location: Mythril Mines, Midgar Continent
Shemhazai, The Whisperer
Description: A winged centaur, with crossbow-shaped arms and a mask covering her face, this creature is rather creepy looking. Fortunately, however, she gallops around with such speed and fluidity that most people can’t focus on the spirits grotesque form. Shemhazai is associated with the zodiac sign of Sagittarius.
Location: Farplane Entrance, Spira Continent.
Exodus, The Judge-Sal
Description: Exodus takes the form of a man carved into a woody root, growing upwards out of a floating rock. Embedded into the front of the rock is a scale, balancing to smaller, equally sized, rocks. Exodus is associated with the zodiac sign Libra, and, according to legend, judges the souls of the dead.
Location: Mount Nibel Caverns, Cetra Continent
Zeromus, The Condemner
Description: Zeromus is a large man, covered with a giant shell of sorts that hides his lower half from view. A single horn protrudes from the front of his face, and a second large shell is clamped to the back of his head, presumably hiding any hair that may or may not exist. He has large muscular arms, one of which ends with a massive pincer. Zeromus is associated with the zodiac sign Cancer.
Location: Tear’s Point, Esthar Continent
Cuchuliann, The Impure
Description: This summon takes the form of a disgustingly obese man with poisonous barbs running down either arm and a large piercing rammed right through his head. Green skin and vile smelling, this creature is associated with the zodiac sign Scorpio.
Location: Midgar Slums, Midgar Continent
Zalera, The Death Seraph
Description: A large, thin, skeleton like spirt, showing obvious relation to the undead. Zalera is a man with a single large wing, and a second, much smaller wing. Despite the two different sizes, the two wings, along with his powers, has earned him the name the Angel of Death. Grafted onto the front of his larger wing is the body of a dead woman, according to legend a shaman who had similar powers over the dead. Because of this, Zalera is often associated with the zodiac sign Gemini.
Location: Zanarkand Dome, Zanarkand Continent
Hashmal, The Bringer of Order
Description: Hashmal takes the form of a man with paw-like feet and a thick mane that causes others to associate him with the zodiac sign Leo. He holds two massive weapons that could only be described as double-bladed curved swords. These weapons smash, crush, and flatten any who would stand in his way.
Location: Pharos at Ridorana, Ivalice Continent
Famfrit, The Darkening Cloud
Description: Famfrit takes the form of a giant man in thick blue armor, carrying a jug of water on his shoulders. The jug is attached to him by a long chain, and he uses the jug on the chain to swing at his opponents like a weapon. He is associated with the zodiac sign Aquarius.
Location: Fisherman’s Horizon, Balamb Continent
Chaos, The Walker of the Wheel
Description: Chaos it a man with two horns atop his head, sitting on a floating plinth. Surrounding the plinth are four swords in what appear to be sword racks, which hover in perfect harmony with Chaos’ plinth. Though his features are just that of a simple armored man with horns, he is still usually associated with the zodiac sign Taurus.
Location: The Necrohol of Nabudis
Ultima, The High Seraph
Description: Ultima is a creepily beautiful woman in a long white gown and ornate golden accessories. With three pairs of angel wings, and a brilliant golden crown, she gives off a sort of magnificence. Beneath her dress, however, is a large golden laser cannon, which takes away somewhat from her otherwise glorious appearance. Ultima is associated with the zodiac sign Virgo.
Location: Great Crystal of Giruvegan, Ivalice Continent.
Zodiark, The Keeper of Precepts
Description: Zodiark is a large snake-like fish-like creature that seems to be bound to a sort of harness. The snake slithers around, coiling around the harness at times, and seemingly swimming through the air. Zodiark is associated with the astrological constellation of Ophiuchus, the Snake Holder. While it is not commonly viewed as one of the twelve zodiac signs in our culture, it is one of the thirteen constellations that the sun passes through in the sky, and is accepted as the thirteenth sign in other cultures because of that.
Location: The Lunatic Pandora, Bottom of the Ocean

Hellfire – Sharing a name with the Aeon Ifrit’s limit, the effects are quite similar as well, dealing large amounts of fire damage to all enemies. Its appearance is a bit different, however, involving Belias thrusting its axe into the ground and releasing a blast of heat from its body. [750 Fire Damage, 100% Limit Gauge required]

The Goat-dragon calls forth storm clouds, which surrounds the entire battlefield, then, with a roar, several bolts of lightning crash down from all directions at once.[1000 Lightning Damage to all, 100% limit gauge required].

He draws power into himself and then jumps, smashing back through the surface of the planet. His leap causes the earth to break into enormous chunks, smashing the enemies in range and unleashing torrents of lava. [3500 Earth Damage, 100% limit gauge required]

Water spews out of the urn’s mouth, and rushes over the opponents, gushing outward from Famfrit in all directions.[4000 Water Damage, requires 100% limit gauge.]

She charges it up, and when it's ready, she opens her eyes with a terrifying expression, unleashing a beam of holy energy onto the earth. The enemies in range are surrounded with dazzling light first, until the light disappears from the targeted enemy, and finally a blast of concentrated holy energy annihilates all the enemies with a series of devastating explosions that grow exceedingly large. [8000 Holy Damage, 100% limit gauge for both Ultima and the summoner required]

Final Eclipse - A non-elemental attack, and Zodiark's ultimate attack. In an eclipse, Zodiark dives into a calm sea. An egg rises from the sea, and Zodiark hatches out of the egg to reveal his advanced form, a serpent with large, feathery wings. Folding his wings around his body, he charges up with energy and then takes the shape of a burning flying creature, obliterating his surroundings. He then flies into space, with the energy of the eclipse charged in his body. He flies on to the targeted enemy, then in a catastrophic explosion, he destroys the very fabric of reality itself with the power of the deepest dark. [Deals damage equal to the opponent’s max HP (effectively instant death), also destroys the location it is used in (effecting the site plot), requires 100% limit gauge]
